Waterman
The corners-first method of the 1980s: a layer, the other corners, then the edges.
Marc Waterman's corners-first method was among the fastest of the 1980s, before CFOP took over. Its ideas live on in Roux: solve corners and side blocks first, then the edges, finishing with the middle slice and the top. It is kept here for its history and for what it teaches about corners-first solving.
Corners first
Solve a layer except one edge, then the opposite layer's corners in one algorithm, as CMLL later does for Roux.
Edges
Place the remaining edges of the side layers, orienting the middle slice's edges along the way, then finish the middle slice's edges with M and U turns, as Roux's last edges are solved.
